Bottled Oatmeal Stout- Batch 40

Bottled the stout tonight after a 2 hour delay, thanks to uncontrollable circumstances.  Final gravity came to 1.020 for an alcohol percent of 5.00% even.  Got 94 12oz bottles and two 22oz bottles out of it.  Should be ready to drink by my party on the 15th.  Looking forward to it.

Bottled My Oatmeal Stout and Pilsener- Batch 32 and 31

Tonight I decided to bottle all my beer, which is my Pilsener I’ve had in my fridge for 2 months, and the Oatmeal Stout I did a week and a half ago with my friend Mike. Bottled the Pilsener first, getting 46 out of it.  Final gravity came out to be 1.012, giving me an …

Oatmeal Stout – Batch 32

Last week my friend Mike and I went to Steinbart’s to check it out, as he’s never been there before.  Of course, I can’t walk in there without getting something, so we left there with ingredients to make an oatmeal stout. Now, I’ve made this particular stout before, and it turned out awesome!  This time, …

Batch 25- Lucky Stout

Back in March I brewed my 25th batch of beer.  Did a remake of the famous Lucky Stout (famous among those who’ve tried it.) Bottled it on 3/18/09, and have only a few bottles left.  My next brew is a German style Weizen, will follow up once I pitch the yeast.

Cherry Stout Bottled- Batch 22

On the 15th I bottled up my cherry stout.  Before bottling, I had to use a strainer to remove floating cherry remains.  After transferring it to my bottling bucket, I had close to a gallon of sediment left in my bottling bucket.  Even had some cherry gunk stuck in my auto siphon. Final gravity turned …

Cherry Stout Brewed- Batch 22

Thursday I brewed another Papazian recipe for Cherry Stout.  I was given 3 gallons of cherries by my sister in law (thanks, Karyn!), but, for some reason, felt the need to pick up a few more.  So, after the stout I will be brewing another Papazian recipe, Cherries in the Snow. Started out with the …

Batch 19 Bottled- Lucky Stout

Last Thursday the 18th I bottled the Beamish Stout clone I made.  So, since some of you have never bottled your own beer, let me walk you through the experience. To bottle properly, you need to: 1) Sanitize all your bottles and your bottling bucket.  I like to get my bucket full of sanitizing solution, …

Beamish Stout Clone- Batch 19

Wednesday evening I brewed a Beamish Stout clone, thanks to the clone recipe we got from a magazine with 150 recipies in it.  We used the extract recipe, not the all grain recipe listed below.   So, gathered the ingredients, put some water on the kettle, and began mashing the grains.   The recipe called …

Oatmeal Stout- Whole Grain Goodness

I brewed batch 9 yesterday, some Oatmeal Stout.  I used Papazian’s mini-mash recipe from The Complete Joy of Homebrewing.  Now, I purchased the grains a few weeks ago and had them crushed when I purchased them so I wouldn’t have to try to do it myself.  Of course, no one told me to brew them …
